Frank Miller’s popular crime-riddled comic turned film franchise, Sin City, is being pumped with new blood on television, Deadline reports.

Writer Glen Mazzara (The Shield, The Walking Dead) and producers Bob and Harvey Weinstein have teamed up to take the series far from the 2005 film of the same name, and back to its graphic novel roots, with “original characters and timelines within the Sin City universe.”

Although a network hasn’t yet been nailed down, TWC/Dimension, the production company behind the move is seeing contenders “beginning to circle.” There may be some juice left in Sin City, though a 2014 sequel, earned less than $14 million at the box office.

In the meantime, whet your appetite with the trailer for the critically-acclaimed 2005 flick below.
