First off, your correspondent would like to state that he is, and always has been, a huge fan of The Tie Bar — they’re not paying me to say this, they just make excellent ties at an insanely competitive price that allows me to buy more of them, thus making variety the spice of my neckwear life.

I do, however, appreciate heritage goods as well, and thus was delighted to hear that TTB had partnered with storied Italian mill Vitale Barberis on a collection of dapper wool ties for the fall season, launched today.

For those unfamiliar, Barberis is the oldest mill in the world, opened in 1663 and run by the same family for 15 generations. Their wool is the stuff of luxury legend, run through a proprietary seven-step process and used to craft bespoke suits that have graced the shoulders of everyone from Gary Cooper to the Duke of Windsor to Fiat chairman and vestiary titan Gianni Agnelli.

Long story short, these guys know their fabric.

And The Tie Bar knows value, which is why each of these handsome numbers will only run ya 35 bucks — sartorially speaking, this is the definition of a no brainer.

Seven designs to choose from (plus two bow ties), each with a soft, luxurious feel and an understated pattern that’ll pair well with everything from your favorite three-piece to a chambray shirt and jeans. Versatility is, after all, one of the hallmarks of a good wool tie.

So grab one while you still can. Hell, grab a couple. Spice of life and all that.
