The 8 Things You Should Buy From Amazon’s New Prime Wardrobe

Everyday essentials with a one-week test period? We dig.

When you think style, you probably don’t think Amazon.

While Jeff Bezos and co. have conquered most of your life’s needs, the e-tailing giant seems somewhat inhospitable to fashion. Blame the site’s ubiquitous ugly design or the lack of high-end choices — buying your duds here doesn’t feel more elevated than, say, picking up socks at a CVS.

But a solution might arrive with Amazon’s new-ish Prime Wardrobe.

Now open to all Prime customers (before, the try-before-you-buy service was only available via invitation), the style concierge offers real perks for those in need of solid everyday wear.

With Prime Wardrobe, you can purchase multiple shoes, clothes and accessories, try them on at home (note: order at least three items) and then decide what to keep over the course of seven days. You’ll only be charged for what you keep. Everything else you return for free in a resealable box with a prepaid label.

Yes, there are plenty of sites that offer similar models — we were doing this with Frank & Oak five years ago — but the site has the advantage of working with your existing Prime membership and across several brands, including Amazon’s own.

You’ll recognize many major style labels (Levis, Calvin Klein, Original Penguin, Adidas, Puma, etc.), but a rep told us that Amazon’s private brands are actually the top ordered items from Wardrobe. For men, this includes Buttoned Down (men’s dress shirts in 72 size combinations), Goodthreads (casualwear) and Peak Velocity (activewear).

There’s enough here to make this occasionally worth your while, and the site does offer some curated options, including editor picks and shopping by occasion/style.
