You know by now that Patagonia makes some of the best gear in the outdoor industry. And you know by now that they stand by their products to a degree matched by few, if any, other companies. You also know that, accordingly, their stuff doesn’t come cheap and is rarely available at discounted prices.

All of which is to say you should consider heading over to Backcountry and picking up the brand’s Nano-Air Hooded Jacket for $194, more than $100 off its regular price of $299. It’s available in all sizes in a nice, understated blue, which is perhaps the most surprising thing about this sale — as you may also be aware, if you do find Patagonia stuff on sale, it’s usually in very limited sizes and very… undesirable colors.

Anyway, The Nano-Air is basically a miracle jacket: it’s crazy lightweight, plenty warm, and as breathable as other jackets claim to be but definitely aren’t. I have the non-hooded version, and I’ve used it for cold-weather running with just a baselayer beneath it, or as a light, casual jacket during shoulder seasons.

It’s available in a few other colors as well, at slightly less of a discount. Whichever one you go with, you’ll quikly come to swear by it.
