These Clothes Were Built For Lazy Sundays

Public Rec is your weekend wardrobe, updated

Our go-to wardrobe is the one we wear on the couch.

You know, the stuff you throw on for quick errands or lazy Sundays. Shirts and sweats at arm’s reach that are inherently comfy … if not entirely kosher for public consumption.

Thankfully, one Chicago company’s figured out how to maintain the comfort while seriously upping the style points.

They’re called Public Rec, and they make bombers, pants and shirts equally adept for leisure, social life or city bustle.

Public Rec began as a Kickstarter by Zach Goldstein last summer with the All Day Every Day Pant — basically, a more refined yet still comfy sweatpant you could wear on pretty much any occasion (they even measured the pants by waist and inseam — rather than the usual S/M/L — for a more tailored look). The campaign raised $180K and sold 2,000 pairs.

Now, after introducing a T-shirt this past summer, Public Rec’s geared up for fall with two must-have additions.

The Go-To Henley is a supersoft and stretchy long-sleeve. It uses a proprietary fabric called Relux (a blend of Pima cotton, TENCEL and Spandex) to provide, as they say, “comfort for the couch, style for the bar.”

The Crosstown Bomber, meanwhile, utilizes the same nylon/spandex fabric as Public Rec’s pants, so it’s soft, wicks away moisture and breathes well. Plus, it has two “media openings” for headphones and three zippered pockets.

Add in the still-available pants and shirt and, well, your winter weekends are set. And not worse for the wear.
