Old-School Duffels and Bags That Recall a Simpler, More Rugged America

So rugged. So handsome. So leather.

Some leather bags are so nice you never really want to scuff ‘em up.

These aren’t those bags.

Mission Mercantile, born in Texas, makes full-grain leather duffels and accessories that look, well, mighty fine. But behind the looks, they possess a seriously rugged, old-school mentality.

Founded in Texas and inspired by the frontier shops and trading posts of yore, Mission uses 100% full-grain veg-tanned leather. Paired with brass rivets and heavy-duty waxed canvas, this is the kind of stuff you pass down for generations. (They’re also the type of company who can reference “ledgers” and “peddlers” in their press materials without sounding hammy, and throw in the odd Arthur Miller quote when necessary.)

MM also owns its own factory, so they oversee the entire bagmaking process, from material selection and product development to manufacturing.

A few things that caught our eye:

The Ice Block Bag
Aka the world’s most masculine tote. A mix of full-grain leather and waxed canvas with a small handle under the base for single-motion unloading. It’s your firewood sack.

Stateroom Wash Bag
There’s no upper frame on this handsome veg-tanned leather Dopp Kit, allowing you to pack more in or collapse it down to size when not in use.

Tradesman Bag
Think of this as the world’s dapperest toolbox.

MM also owns White Wing, a leather and canvas manufacturer that makes the nicest rifle case we’ve ever seen, complete with dorper lamb shearling lining.

Long days ahead. Stay tough.
