When you’re looking for truly unique gifts or accoutrements, the internet’s a treasure trove  — but to find the good stuff amongst all the crap, you’d have to be a master curator, or just really good at never having anything else to do, ever.

Doing yeoman’s work for you, and well: Bureau of Trade, a humorously written and expertly-curated online boutique dedicated to finding “the world’s most unique merchandise for men”, open now.

Launched by a foreign policy analyst-turned-inveterate flea market hound, Bureau of Trade sifts through eBay and Craigslist to find sui generis conversation pieces for your closet and your home. Bureau doesn’t own the merch, they just direct you to it. Two standout curations include:

Fought for His Right: items to commemorate Beastie Boy Adam Yauch, including a signed anthology poster, a vintage Technics turntable, and a pre-owned ’80s Beasties t-shirt.

Best Buy Bye-Bye: containers to celebrate the ouster of big box retail chairman Richard Schulze, e.g., a Last Supper snuffbox, vintage explosives crates, and a pair of Goyard steamer trunks.

Bureau’s proprietor scours Bermondsey, Kathmandu, and Tel Aviv (among other locales) for his wares. He’ll hunt down items on request should nothing catch your eye, or if you’re too busy doing all those things you do.
