It seems as though giving consumer electronics a luxury touch is becoming a trend. First, Tom Ford created Palladium Apple Watch Pendant, transforming the new age wrist piece into a pocket watch. Now there are custom iPhones being made with precious metals and gems.
Available for pre-order, the Lux iPhone 7 takes the latest iPhone model and customizes it with big and small diamonds, 24k yellow gold, 18k rose gold, platinum, or any combination of these options. The price depends on the options you choose, but the most opulent version, the Bespoke Collection Imperial model, costs $1.2 million.
As the name suggests, every detail in the phone’s appearance is customized. To make the experience more personal, the designer will meet with customers in person to go over the design features. While augmentation is mostly for appearance’s sake, the manufacturer offers a secure 256-bit encrypted upgrade for those with sensitive communications.
Based in Los Angeles, Brikk produces couture products and accessories for lifestyle and technology industries. The company first made waves releasing a platinum Apple Watch. With the launch of the iPhone 7 on the horizon (September 16), Brikk is promoting a variety of luxury alternatives to the popular smartphone for each model released by Apple: the Lux iPhone 7, Lux iPhone 7 Plus, and Lux iPhone 7 Pro.
Aside from the aforementioned Bespoke Collection, Brikk offers the Deluxe and the Standard Collections. The Deluxe Collection features special hexagon-shaped designs engraved on the back of the phone as well as hand-laid French enamel colors. The Deluxe Single, Deluxe Double, and Deluxe Triple offer customized designs, diamond weights, and beautiful enamel accents. The least expensive iPhone 7 offering from Brikk is the Standard Collection, which comes in 120 different colors. (More about pricing momentarily.)
Each phone is plated with 5.0 microns of gold or platinum and certified using laser and x-ray testing equipment. The actual device is disassembled, hand polished, plated with five layers of various metals and two layers of the preferred precious metal, and then reassembled for testing before shipping to clients.
Prices range from $4,295 for the Standard models to over $1,200,000 for Imperial Editions in the Bespoke Collection. They are packaged in a custom Zero Halliburton case with carbon fiber and suede leather interior, with user manual and all accessories standard to the device. The Deluxe Collection now includes Brikk’s Listen i3 audiophile gold headphones, which are said to offer studio-level sound through three hybrid drivers inside. The Brikk Lux Protect Sapphire Glass Screen Protector–the world’s first genuine sapphire screen protector–is also included with all Lux iPhone 7 models. Other Lux accessories are available for the Lux iPhone 7 such as matching gold and diamond power bank, car charger, world charger, and desktop dock. The included certificate of authenticity includes an embedded diamond.
The Lux iPhone 7 is now available for pre-order on the Brikk website.
