Not sure why we’re rediscovering our own country — it’s not like we’ve gone anywhere else in the last seven months — but if Allen Edmonds wants to give us the best shoe deals of the year with a sale entitled “Rediscover America,” we’re game.
The title is most certainly a nod to the Port Washington, Wisconsin-based company’s M.O.: they’ve been crafting high-end men’s footwear right here in the U.S. since 1922.
As for the sale, over 600 pairs of shoes are about $50 to $150 off.
Back to the name. Yes, there are a lot of imported materials at work here (and some shoes are basically just imports; lots of “made in Italy” selections here), but some of the boots, sneakers and loafers are homegrown. Wherever they’re from, it’s all handsome stuff and heavily discounted.
