NASA Debunks Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop Claim with Healing Stickers

NASA just brought Goop back down to Earth.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle brand Goop recommended “healing stickers” that it said was used in astronaut suits to monitor vitals, but that claim was quickly refuted by NASA Friday.

Body Vibes, the company selling the “smart” stickers, says they are charged with “bio-frequencies” to promote healing” and optimize bodily functions. On its website, Body Vibe claims the stickers are made from “an exclusive material originally developed for NASA.”

Goop then took that a step further, claiming the stickers were “made with the same conductive carbon material NASA uses to line space suits so they can monitor an astronaut’s vitals during wear” in a now-altered post that was originally published Thursday.

According to CNN Money, however, the space agency said it doesn’t use carbon material to line its suits, and the new ones don’t have a trace of carbon-fiber at all.

Goop said the products recommended on its site are not “formal endorsements.”
