The 2017 Edition of Steve McQueen’s Favorite Shirt Is in Stock

In Japanese denim, no less

No one did California cool better than Steve McQueen.

And this?

A foundational garment inspired by the man himself, manufactured in California and made from some of the world’s best fabric: Japanese 6.5-ounce denim from the Yoshiwa Mills.

The trouble with denim shirts is that they’re too often stiff, unyielding and uncomfortable as they break in. But this one has been heavy-garment washed — basically, it’s already lived a bit by the time it shows up at your house.

So it’s housebroken. Richer, in tone and texture. Softer around the edges, though thoughtfully produced with long-lasting wear in mind, with a chainstitched hem, bar-tack reinforcements where it matters and antique brass pearl snaps.

It’s a shirt for the season.

And it’s now in stock — if not for long.
