There are things a man does for the affections of a lady.
Things he wouldn’t do otherwise (calling you out, park picnic).
But a trip to wine country needn’t mean defenestrating your cojones for the weekend.
Located on PR’s west side, the ranch’s vineyard benefits from the coastal breezes that draft in from Cayucas and Morro Bay — a geographical sidenote that makes for some of the best wine in the region.
Wine aside, Rangeland’s hilly pastures are home to free-ranging Angus and a herd of Dorper sheep, which are fantastic to look at, but more fantastic on the fork.
A catered lunch, paired with some horseback exploration, is your best bet for noshing the grass-fed goodness.
Oh, and there’s blacktail buck-hunting on site. Just saying.
But don’t worry: they can arrange a picnic, too.
Nota bene: This weekend is Paso Robles’s Harvest Wine Festival, so keep the tank on empty to save room for the bacchanal.
