Thousands of Bikini-Clad Russians Skied Sochi Over the Weekend

Like an '80s ski movie ... if the Commies were the good guys

If we could’ve been anywhere in the world over the weekend, it would’ve been … Sochi, Russia?

Allow us to explain.

Sochi — host of the 2014 Winter Olympics — just played host to a spring ski carnival called BoogelWoogel. Like all great spring festivals, one of the major themes of BoogelWoogel is a ritualistic shedding of layers: as in, some 1,200 bikini-clad women and banana-hammocked men take to the slopes at Rosa Khutor, a ski resort in Sochi National Park. If you ever wondered what it feels like to live in an ‘80s ski movie, look no further than the video above.

BoogelWoogel is in its second year, and over 20,000 people attended this year’s festivities, which included parades, dance parties and more two-piece bathing suits than you can shake a rolled-up Sports Illustrated at.

Your move, Daytona.
