Ivanka Trump said during a Monday appearance on Fox & Friends that the “viciousness” and “ferocity” of her father’s detractors has surprised her.

“It is hard. There’s a level of viciousness that I was not expecting,” Ivanka, the senior adviser to the president, said on the morning show. “I was not expecting the intensity of this experience.”

She added: “Some of the distractions and some of the ferocity, I was a little blindsided by on a personal level.”

Ivanka, who is a political novice like her father, also spoke about the administration’s efforts to create more opportunities for technical and trade workers amid opposition from both sides of the aisle.

“We want to do big, bold things…I didn’t expect [this] to be easy.”
