We might have mentioned that Apple AirPods Max are great headphones but really, really expensive.
But Apple isn’t likely to drop prices much, so if you want a pair, you pretty much have to accept the markup in return for excellent noise-cancellation, sound and comfort (and, of course, cultural cache).
But today, you have help: Amazon is offering three colorways of the Max at the lowest price we’ve ever seen, and two other colors at a modest discount.
A reminder: The Apple AirPods Max feature “spatial audio for theater-like sound.” The headband canopy is a lightweight, breathable knit mesh, while more mesh wraps the ear cushions, which feature memory foam and attach via magnets. As well, you can adjust the telescoping arms and the anodized aluminum ear cups rotate independently to balance pressure.
Add in a digital crown to control volume and summon Siri — a tactile nod to the Apple Watch — plus adaptive audio that conforms to the fit and seal of each user’s ear cushions and active noise cancellation, and you have a really sharp looking and excellent sounding pair of headphones, all powered by Apple’s H1 chip.
