Leather Bound

We’re living in the age of efficiency.

One-click shopping. Same-day delivery. Champagne drone drops.

Make you wonder why places even bother with the old brick-and-mortar model anymore.

Then you walk into a place like Will Leather Goods — just now open in Nolita — and it all comes rushing back.

Will (Adler, proprietor) outfits his stores with vintage artifacts and haberdashery he picks up on his travels. At the New York location, that means a pair of antique Mexican canoes, rafters rigged with meat hooks and at least one ten-foot circular saw.

He also incorporates found materials into the myriad leather goods available for purchase.

To wit: the recently unveiled Oaxacan Collection, a line of handsome bags, belts and accessories constructed out of vibrant, handwoven Zapotec rugs Will picked up south of the border.

We’re especially fond of the messenger bags, laptop attachés and one of the coolest damn bicycles you’ve ever seen (they’ll even let you take it for a spin — seriously).

Of course, if you’re more of a traditionalist, Will stocks handsome canvas and leather totes in every color, shape and size imaginable.

They also serve a mean cup of espresso — on the house.

So g’head, stay awhile.
