Mad Men, you may have heard, returns for its seventh and final season this Sunday.

And while Matthew Weiner, that scrivener djinn, is known for his attention to period detail — the Eames chairs, the silver-rimmed lowball glasses, etc. — your correspondent has always been most interested in the one mid-century prop every Angeleno can appreciate:

The sunglasses, man. The sunglasses.

And so, we’re proud to introduce The Sunglasses of Mad Men, for your viewing (and buying) pleasure.

Inside you’ll find the sunnies (and some specs) worn by every major male character, all taken on the set of Mad Men, including:

  • Don Draper’s Olympians, worn while vacationing in Hawaii.

  • Harry Crane’s Silver Cool Ray’s, which he wore in L.A.

  • Roger Sterling’s debonair tortoise shells, as seen in the Sunshine State.

Best of all, we also tell you the store that sells those sunglasses.

And how Ellen Freund — the incredibly accomplished Mad Men prop master — found the store and brought its proprietor on board.

So, you know.

Take a look.
