London Balling

Pick a phrase. Any phrase. Say it out loud.

Now say it with a British accent. You just became, for one fleeting and ridiculous second, more sophisticated.

Same thing goes for your casualwear, guv’nor.

Introducing “Case Study,” the first stateside atelier by UK label Garbstore, now open near Hancock Park.

Helmed by Ian Paley, a former designer for Burberry and Paul Smith, “Case Study” looks like a locker room, is redolent of cedar and stocks brands like Mountain Research and Gitman Vintage.

Plus accessories from Iris Skateboards, Thinksound earbuds, and brass and leather bracelets by Matthew Ready.

In our locker:

Outsidein Sneakers by Garbstore + Reebok

Heritage Reeboks reconstructed from original parts (like a reverse pump) but featuring a tailored look you can pair with jeans or a casual suit.

Indigo Farm Denim

Raw enough that you have to break them in, soft enough that you won’t mind doing it.

Palace Plaid Button Down and Garbstore Sweatshirt

Your new Saturday suit: slim plaid button-down with a cheeky parrot logo under a Charmin-soft reverse pile sweatshirt.

Head on over and, as they say across the pond, get sorted.
