Much has been made about former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow’s attempt to resurrect his pro athlete career in baseball. For proof, just listen to any New York Mets fans’ general consternation, skepticism, and Bronx cheers since he signed a minor league contract with the team.

But Tebow has silenced his critics at least for the moment by cranking a two-run home run in his first minor league at-bat for Mets’ Class A team, the Columbia Fireflies.

Maybe the greatest part? It appears Tebow didn’t even realize it was a homer, stopping at second base for a second, before acknowledging the umpire’s call.
