There are a hundred reasons why I don’t live in a home designed by a world-famous architect, despite interest. Numbers 1-99 start and end with the word “budget,” and the last one owes to the fact that there are few — if any — on the market to begin with.

You can purchase them online for around $300K (not including land or site prep) and have it delivered anywhere in the world. Available designs include one based off of historical house museum Glass House by Philip Johnson (pictured above).

It’s a genuinely good idea that caters to design-minded people who might not necessarily have unlimited funds, but want their dream home nonetheless. That basically makes it the equivalent of prêt–à–porter fashion for the real estate world: designer-made and ready-to-wear … or live in, in this case.
