WTF is it?

Because the interwebs are crammed full of crazy things, and sometimes the purpose of those things is not immediately discernible, we present WTF Is It?

WTF is it?
The Horizon is an off-road electric bike that’s pedal-compatible but has a battery with a range of 25-40 miles per charge. It can also be equipped with multiple battery packs to give it a range of 160 miles per charge.

So what’s it do?
Whisks you across paved and unpaved surfaces at a top speed of 25 MPH.

Who makes it?
Outrider USA, a company that was started by a pair of roommates who set out to create an e-bike that would allow them to keep up with traffic while commuting to Appalachian State.

Is it in any way useful?
Certainly. The Horizon obviously offers appeal to those in peak physical condition, but it also gives disabled individuals a way to travel into backcountry environs they otherwise might not be able to reach and explore.

Can I buy one?
You can, and they start around $14k. Call 828-654-7555 or email here to start your order.

Should I buy one?
That kemosabe, is up to you. The suspension might be easy on your back, but the price won’t be very kind to your bottom line. That said, if you get one before winter, let us know if it works in the snow.

Can I see it in action?
