It’s Got Four Sides, and They’ve All Got Hacksaws
WTF is it?
Because the interwebs are crammed full of crazy things, and sometimes the purpose of those things is not immediately discernible, we present WTF Is It?
WTF is it?
The Quadsaw, a handy tool that can make holes with straight edges instead of rounded ones.
So what’s it do?
Lets you drill a square or rectangular opening into your wall in order to install a wall socket in about 30 seconds. It’s made to work with plasterboard, but you can get creative.
Who makes it?
Genius IP, a London startup that was created when an engineer met an entrepreneur in 2012.
Is it in any way useful?
For some (electricians, contractors) more than others (almost everyone else), but it definitely has appeal. According to Genius, the drill would save UK electricians 16 million working hours a year.
Can I buy one?
The Quadsaw can be preordered now for $275 (shipping included) and will arrive in July 2017.
Should I buy one?
If you’ve got a hankering to test out that expression about round pegs in square holes, go for it.
May I see one in action?
