The World’s Largest Working NES Controller Is for Sale

There can only be one winner in this game

A grey plastic rectangle with a four-button arrow pad and four buttons, the original Nintendo controller was nothing short of a work of art.

Inspired by its beautiful simplicity, designer Charles Lushear of the studio Bohemian Workbench created a version of the NES controller that belongs not in a museum, but in your living room.

Built from rich varieties of maple, walnut and mahogany, the 40” x 17.5” NES Controller Coffee Table made by Lushear has a retractable cord and glass top and is a surefire conversation piece.

“The unique combination of wood and technology makes a playful statement that stands alone as a work of handcrafted sculpture,” Lushear says. “I want my pieces to transport people back to fun memories of their past and hopefully spread a little happiness along the journey.”

As if the piece didn’t already do it, Lushear added one more feature to keep those ’80s and ’90s vibes flowing … the $6,000 controller is fully functional.
