Built by WMR Architects for a Chilean pro surfer, the Marello House seems like a dream. The 2,000-square-foot house, which is located near the famed surf town of Punta de Lobos, boasts Pacific views as far as the eye can see.
But it’s the home’s centerpiece that really sets it apart: an indoor/outdoor halfpipe ramp that dips below the structure, giving the place’s elevated design dual purpose. The other being protection from high tides and tsunamis.
But for those who don’t know their ollie from their nollie, this beach bungalow, if you can even call it that, offers more than just a really fancy skate park.
It’s enclosed by glass and features a stunning terrace-style roof that reflects patterned shadows in the home that change with the movement of the sun. Not to mention the home’s massive sundeck that provides 360 degrees of the coast.
