If you’d have told our grandpappies that their grandchildren would be camping in floating suites, they’d never have believed ya. Nor would they believe we’d be building fires with artisanal wood, but the times, like ol’ Bobby D. said, they are a changin’.

Unlike the latter, floating campsites are actually something a man can get behind, and celebrated Japanese outdoor brand Snow Peak just released exactly that. It’s called the Sky Nest — a tent designed to be slung between two trees to make for a wigwam that’s equal parts hammock and tree house.

Taking a more traditional approach than other floating tents on the market, Snow Peak’s Sky Nest measures 4×7 feet and features two large windows on each side for ventilation and views, along with shoe pockets to protect your gear from the elements.

The tent is currently only available in Japan. Until then, check out the gallery below.
