We never would have guessed it, but it turns out that pools are just like hamburger patties, happy-hour drinks and heads: two are better than one.
This phenomenon was brought to our attention courtesy of the curiously named Wall House, a home that was built outside Lisbon on a 24,649-square-foot plot of land by Portugal-based Guedes Cruz Architects.
An open design with glass windows aplenty, the home’s most striking feature is a pair of pools on the patio that visually overlap each other. While the first one is set in the ground, the second pool is positioned just above on an upper level and features an entirely glass bottom. Providing sea views from both inside and out, the house offers many ways for its occupants to experience water.
Primarily constructed from concrete, wood also makes its way into the design in the form of slat coverings that can be closed to provide privacy as well as protection from wind and weather.
