When we first told you about Washington-based Homegrown Trailers, the only model in their fleet was a wooden, solar-powered teardrop with a compost toilet and … room to sleep. Nothing fancy, just well-made machines bearing very PNW-esque aesthetics strongly rooted in the artisanal revival movement that seems to be taking over, y’know, everything.

Today, they’re still focused on rugged, purpose-driven outdoor gear, but their newest model, the Timberline, seems less intent on “roughing it” than its predecessor.

They still use non-toxic materials and sustainably sourced components throughout, but the Timberline is longer and heavier than their previous model, and this time the solar panels are optional rather than standard. Other upgrades from the previous Woodland model: an indoor shower, hot water and a more powerful battery. There’s also plenty of headroom, light and opportunities to customize the layout.

We were taken to thinking of it as Airstream’s little brother from the north country.
