If a Glass Treehouse Falls in the Forest …

It would be a damn shame. Because this thing rocks.

We know glass houses and stones don’t mix.

Glass houses and trees, however, appear to be another matter entirely.

A conceptual glass house dreamed up by Kazakh designer Aibek Almassov in 2013 that will feature a fir tree growing through an enclosed tube at the cylindrical home’s center is one step closer to becoming a reality now that an investor has signed on to finance the project.

A location hasn’t been picked for the live-in atrium, but renderings depict it standing in a clearing in the woods in a hilly region far removed from the hustle and bustle of city life.

“We wanted to combine the capabilities of modern industrial design and the natural wealth and beauty,” Almassov says. “This is an opportunity to escape from the sweltering concrete boxes and feel the present unity with nature.”

Or just fulfill our lifelong dream to live in a treehouse.

Girls allowed.
