Good news, men of leisure and deep pockets:

Owning a lake house just got easier, care of Floatwing, the modular floating house now available for waterborne weekend getaways.

Floatwing comes to you. It goes wherever you want. It generates its own power. And it freakin’ floats.

Crafted by crack Portuguese design firm Friday, these are nice abodes: full kitchens, heat pumps, photovoltaic solar panels, AC generators, pellet stoves … even a BBQ on the upper terrace and a wine cellar down below the deck. When charged, the house is self-sufficient for a week.

They make a couple of different models: the N1 must be moored to a marina. The N2 and N3, though, will navigate to wherever you want (conditions permitting) thanks to two small outboard motors.

Based on your personal specifications, there are more than 100 different combinations of floating home models available. You can choose from 1-3 bedrooms, 1-2 bathrooms and a length of 32-60 feet.

For those seafaring types who prefer to travel below deck, Friday also offers personal submarines big enough to convey adventurous couples up to 1,000 feet under the surface.

Get your sea legs ready.
