Not Only Does Instant Ramen Suck — It’ll Also Kill You

Slurp cautiously

A bowl of ramen is one of life’s great pleasures.

A bowl of instant ramen, however, is one of life’s great enders.

This, according to a report by Fast Company on a new study that found eating instant noodles just twice a week increases your risk of heart disease, diabetes and strokes, which comes as a surprise to … ballpark figure, no one.

The study, which took place in Korea, surveyed the instant noodle intake of more than 10,000 adults aged 19-64 and found not only was the instant stuff more popular among those in the lower brackets of education and income, but those that consumed more were also most at-risk for cardio-metabolic syndrome, which, in short, leads to nothing but bad things.

So, all in: ramen’s probably best reserved for the ramen bar.

Or … let’s be honest, the best drunk food ever, thanks to Roy Choi, whose instant ramen recipe I’ll link here, for posterity’s sake.

Just exercise some moderation.
