My parents never get rid of TVs, so they have five models — some dating from the ”˜90s — strewn around the house. But their favorite is a tiny flatscreen I bought them about five years ago that sits in the kitchen. Call it their fifth TV, but the closest they have to something from this decade.

This Toshiba 32” HDTV, however, is about one-third the cost I spent on their outdated kitchen set and it’s smart (and pretty well-liked, earning 4.6 stars out of 5 from 434 reviews on Best Buy). It utilizes Fire TV, so you can launch all your favorite streaming apps (Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, HBO, etc.) and watch free over-the-air TV (though you’ll need an HD antenna, sold separately).

It also features a remote that operates via Alexa commands, which can control apps, volume and even do searches for shows and genres. The specs are fine but not outstanding: it’s a 720p resolution, which is low, though on smaller TVs like this one you might not be able to tell too much difference from a 4K.

The Toshiba 32” Fire TV is currently just $99 at Best Buy (and Amazon, though that deal ends at the close of Thursday), a savings of $80. It’ll make for a nice fifth or sixth screen in your home.
