The Next Great Lawn Game Has Arrived, People
To ensure his four-year-old son could chip well, Earl Woods quit training the boy and called in a pro.
If Chippo had existed then, he probably could’ve saved a few pennies.
A mash-up of miniature golf and cornhole, Chippo requires players to chip a golf ball into one of three holes carved into a 40″ x 24″ x 1.4″ target board from 15 feet away. Each Chippo set comes with two turf-topped boards, two chipping mats with heavy rubber bottoms and six balls made from high density foam that travel similarly to standard golf balls.
“We’ve combined the old fashioned, beer-slugging, tailgate-dominating, sunshine-basking goodness of games like cornhole with the gentlemanly, giddiness-inducing, side-betting beauty of golf,” according to the game’s designers. “Chippo is the only backyard game where you can work over your buddies, while working on your short game.”
Chippo sets are available for $169 on Kickstarter and will ship in April (clubs not included).
And remember: it’s all in the hips.
