There are loads of stately autos that size themselves down into steed-inspired watches.
There’s the Master Compressor Extreme W-Alarm Aston Martin. The Parmigiani Bugatti Type 370 Mythe. And, our favorite, anything Autodromo.
But none replicate a supercar’s specs quite like this piece of work.
The brainchild of watch aficionado Bruno Belamich of Bell & Ross, the watch is (more than) inspired by the 190-MPH, carbon-fibre concept AeroGT, a car designed by … Belamich himself. For the express purpose of inspiring a new watch design. Because, you know, practicality.
Belamich rallied a crew of car designers and engineers to ensure that the watch’s design deftly integrated every aspect of the hypothetical Aero GT from a functionality perspective.
“I am not an artist. I start with the needs of pilots or divers or other professionals. I talk to them, and most of them will say ‘I need reliability and visibility’ and maybe they’ll call for a specific bezel. I take those constraints and design to answer their needs,” Belamich told Robb Report.
The result is a BR03-92 skeletonized three-hander with a BR03-94 skeletonized chronograph worthy of the snobbiest air and auto enthusiasts.
The vehicle, on the other hand, will be put to pasture before it even sees the light of day.
But who knows? Maybe if you call Belamich and make him an offer he can’t refuse, he’ll get the band back together and build you one.
