Each week, our inbox runneth over with news of gear, apparel and tech releases from around the world. In this feature, we’ll parse through the best of them. Today: A pan to make the perfect paella, vitamins for men and a sneak peek at the Jonah Hill x adidas Originals Samba.

LEAF Mask

One thing we’ve noticed is how difficult wearing a mask makes everyday conversation — which isn’t the biggest selling point of LEAF, but an important one. These transparent face coverings claim to be the world’s first FDA-registered, clear, UV-C sterilizing “smart masks”  (there’s an app that helps control ventilation). Plus, these masks supposedly won’t get foggy, and your phone’s face recognition will work again. All that said, we make no claims this company’s claims are 100% legit, and there are legit questions to ask. Do your research, and wear something more fabric-based in the meantime.

Made In Cookware Paella Pan

Can it be used for more than saffron rice? Of course. This intriguing new offering from one of our favorite cookware companies can go from open flame to stovetop thanks to its blue carbon steel construction. Wait, what the heck is blue carbon steel? Think of it like a lighter, thinner version of cast iron with better heat distribution, qualities we learned about when we tested Made In’s frying pan variant. Ultimately, we like this pan because it’s going to force a lot of people to cook outside their comfort zone.

Jonah Hill x adidas Originals Samba

It’s been some months since Jonah Hill’s collaboration with adidas was first released, and only one sneaker (the Supersta, back in April) has yet to see the light of day. For those patiently waiting to see what the rest of the collaboration might yield, the brand has unveiled Hill’s latest take on one of their iconic silhouettes, the Samba, particularly favored by the actor. The shoes will be available in two colorways, a dark green and burgundy, with suede accents at the toe, heel and the classic Three Stripes along the side. Like the Superstar, the shoes have handwritten-esque embroidery on the side and Jonah Hill’s initials on the heel tab. There’s no information as to when the shoes will be released, but we’ll continue to wait with bated breath.

Rhone 8″ Seersucker Resort Short

Rhone just dropped an all-purpose short you can pair with anything and still look like a sophisticated human. Crafted with four-way stretch, this resort short features a dashing seersucker and quick-drying fabric with a bunch of pockets, so it looks like this be the summer short of our dreams.

Nike Space Hippie 01

A new line of lifestyle sneaks from the Swoosh that’d look at home on the feet of Martian teens in 2120. These are easily the most sustainable shoes in brand history; they were made from a Flyknit-style weave called rPoly, which includes recycled plastic bottles, T-shirts and yarn scraps. Recycled foam and rubber scraps comprise the rest of the sneaker.

Ritual
Ritual

Ritual Vitamins

Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight “Navy Blue”

Tudor’s Black Bay, one of the most popular and accessible watch families at the moment, just got a new addition: the Fifty-Eight “Navy Blue,” which takes its deep blue hue and name from the brand’s involvement with the French navy in the ‘70s. Actually, it got three new additions, if you count the different strap options, which include the classic metal bracelet, as well as a fabric strap with a stripe or a synthetic “soft touch” option.

The Mizuno Enerzy

So Mizuno put a ball pit on the sole of a running shoe. The Enerzy reportedly has 17% more cushioning and 15% more energy return than any shoe in brand history. It, uh, shows.

Hedley&Bennett

Hedley & Bennett Face Masks

Hedley & Bennett, purveyors of chic and durable aprons, is now throwing their hat in the mask game, with their Wake Up and Fight Masks. The masks are made from either 100% cotton or 60/40 cotton-poly blend. Each mask features a flexible metal nose piece (so you’ll no longer have to constantly be adjusting it) as well as an inner filter pocket for those days when you just want a little extra protection. Naturally, like their aprons, the masks are simple yet stylish, and available in classic colors and fabrics, from dark blue chambray to light green oxford.

Saucony Endorphin Collection

Saucony just officially dropped the Endorphin Speed and the Endorphin Shift to round out the running brand’s deservedly-hyped Endorphin Collection. The new additions might seem like just supporting actors to the line’s marquee shoe — the crazy-fast Endorphin Pro, which we reviewed a few weeks ago and Saucony has had trouble keeping in stock — but they’re built with the same, custom SPEEDROLL technology, and based on how everyday runners train in 2020, represent as good a companion set of sneakers as you could ask for.

Prima & Ultima

A limited release of single vintage malts from Diageo’s deep roster, these new Scotches range from 25-48 years old and hail from the likes of Lagavulin, Mortlach and Cragganmore … with each bottle representing a “pivot” point in the recent history of whiskey. Overseen by Johnnie Walker master distiller Dr Jim Beveridge OBE, you can get access to a complete set by registering here; also, the first set will be part of a charity auction at Sotheby’s starting on August 26th. Be warned: the series has an estimated price just under $25K.
