These Magic Earbuds Block Out Caterwauling Children, the World
They say silence is golden. Frankly, that’s an understatement. Because it’s a whole helluva lot easier to find gold than it is to find silence, in 2017.
Screaming babies on planes. Open offices. The weed-whacking, leaf-blowing lawn guy with an uncanny ability to schedule his appointments during my conference calls.
But you’ll soon be able to disrupt all that noise with a nifty little piece of wearable tech. It’s called inspEar, a pair of bionic earbuds that, if they come as advertised, will probably never leave your ocular spaces.
First off, they’re customized to your canal thanks to 3D printing. So they’re comfy. Second, when you’re listening to music, you can zero-in on certain sounds by using the equalizer to increase the vocals or the drums. Then there are the silence and augmented reality features, which blocks out all environmental noise — up to and including the sound of a subway train approaching.
The company even says they’ll be able to translate languages, although we’d like to test that out firsthand before taking it at verbatim.
They’ll be available later this year, just in time for holiday travel, which you might say is the golden hour for using them.
