If you’ve spent any time shooting through curls, then you don’t need to be told that electric surfboards are surfing’s new frontier. Between brands like Radinn and Lift, it’s easier than ever to hit the water, no matter your skill or chill level.

And now there’s a new e-surfboard in town that’s not only getting people excited by the prospects of crossing waves, but also by its affordable price. Recently launched on Kickstarter, Blea Surf is yet another company promising a take-anywhere, surf-anywhere board.

The company began developing the surfboard in early 2015, and just finished its third prototype earlier this year. The campaign goal is to bring two models into mass production: the Shark Performance and the Shark Sport. The former is made from reinforced polymer and weighs in at 66 pounds with a top speed of 20 MPH, while the Shark Sport is made of carbon fiber and weights in at 60 pounds with a top speed of 30 MPH.

Both e-boards feature a swappable battery and are controlled by using a handheld throttle.

Pricing falls at $6K (for the Shark Performance) and $9K (for the Shark Sport), and even cheaper for early-bird Kickstarter backers. That said, at full price, Blea Surf is priced aggressively lower than most e-boards on the market, which can fetch as much $25K.

Head on over to Kickstarter for more info.
