Away Just Dropped Its First Weekender

Since its inception in 2015, the DTC luggage mavens at Away have proffered large suitcases, midsize checked bags, Dopp kits, daypacks and even garment bags.

But, somehow, no weekender bags. It was an odd oversight. On the bag usage rankings, the weekender sits pretty high, just one slot below the gym bag and backpack. Overnights and three-day-weekends have a way of piling up over the course of the year. Thankfully, Away has seen the light and dropped its first iteration of the bag. The Weekender is now available in black, olive and cream canvas.

True to Away’s MO, this bag is pared-back and handsome; it looks far better than more expensive weekenders splashed in luxury logos. We like the leather base and the various leather accents on the shoulder straps and side.

But the bag’s worth goes beyond its look. This thing is heavy on function, from the sneaker compartment, to the laptop sleeve, to the side slot that allows you to secure it on luggage while rolling through the airport terminal. It also fits airline requirements for your carry-on luggage. Bring it to stay with the in-laws or bring it to another hemisphere … Away’s track record is solid gold and this latest addition won’t disappoint.
