Welcome to InsideHook’s Staff Picks, a compendium of what our editors are digging recently.

This never happens to us:

Now enjoy our staff picks …

WP Standard Bifold Wallet
Made in America and meant to age while you do, WP Standard’s classic wallet has plenty of space for cards and cash and is crafted to be the kind of piece you can hand down to your kids — if kids are even still carrying wallets in the year 2030. — Evan Bleier, News Editor

NeilMed Sinus Rinse
Bear with me. Yes, that is a squeeze bottle with a nostril-sized cap. Yes, it’s used for rinsing out your boogers. Yes, it’s completely unsexy in the most dad-like way. My doctor gave me one a few months ago to help with allergies and air pollution, which is getting measurably worse across America (especially in L.A.). Fill it half with hot water, half with cold, salts, and do it in the shower. It works like a charm and is very refreshing. Far better than a Neti Pot. — Reuben Brody, Los Angeles Editor

Anker Nebula Capsule Projector
I’m not much of a crowdfunding person. What with the risk, the clichéd videos and the “it’ll change your life” claims. So I didn’t snag Anker’s Nebula Capsule when it was on Indiegogo. But the soda can-sized projector is now on Amazon, and for a mere $349, you bet I’m going in on a portable 100-inch screen. — Alex Lauer, Associate Editor

Huntsman x Be Cool Be Nice Teddy Silk Pocket Square
Teddybears with sunglasses? Total heartbreakers. Plus, these squares supports the BCBN anti-bullying movement, which advocates kindness, good manners, civility and all-around being a righteous dude. — Shari Gab, Senior Producer

Everlane 365 Fleece Hoodie
You gotta be particular with a brand like Everlane. I’m all for brand loyalty, but dressing head-to-toe in one label will never make a good look. This release, however, is worth a gander — a $60 hoodie with contemporary touches: brushed fleece and a geometric front pocket. I’ll take one in black, please and thank you. — Michael Nolledo, Deputy Editor

Atlas Lifetime Dog Leash
This is Charlie (the dog, not the lady, to be clear). Charlie weighs 72 lbs. and equips a bite force of around 250 PSI. Luckily, she is a kindhearted rube who prefers chasing her own tail to exacting violence on anything. Excepting, of course, her leash, which she tears into with force of a tablesaw the second it’s lashed to her collar. Enter these handsome, lifetime-warrantied restraints, which are woven from climbing rope that can withstand up to 1,000 lbs. of force. — Walker Loetscher, Editor-in-Chief

THE BEST THING WE DRANK THIS WEEK

Vodka: the ugly stepchild of the spirits world. But also? The most versatile of tipples. One of our faves is VDKA 6100, a New Zealand vodka produced from seasonal whey and NZ-sourced spring water. It’s exceptionally smooth, plays well with other ingredients and (most importantly) is really affordable. Robert De Niro is part of the team, but this isn’t a spirit with bite: It’s one that’ll please the masses and the drinking snobs. — Kirk Miller, Managing Editor

And a particular vodka cocktail we like:

Winter Elixir

1.5 oz VDKA 6100
1 sprig rosemary
0.75 oz simple syrup
0.5 oz fresh lemon juice
0.75 oz pomegranate juice
2 oz soda

Muddle the rosemary and simple syrup in a mixing glass, add lemon juice, pomegranate juice and VDKA 6100, add ice and shake, strain into a highball glass, then top with soda. Garnish: lemon wheel and rosemary sprig
