The problem: Your need for an iced coffee fix is turning into a bad drug habit. And five, ten bucks a day for cool cuppa joe is a few thousand dollars per year.

HyperChiller wants to solve your problem … in ninety seconds. Which is how long it takes once you pour hot coffee into the Chiller’s lid before it cools down (by up to 130 degrees). A three-chamber system — two stainless steel layers full of ice and one in-between for your drink — chills your coffee quickly, like adding 30 ice cubes at once (sans dilution).

You can freeze up to 12.5 oz. at a time, and use it twice before refreezing. Dishwasher safe, too.

A worthy competitor: ProntoBev makes a gasoline-can-shaped flask that utilizes the same stainless steel interior trick to cool your beverages, with an added LED temperature readout and space for 25 oz. of liquid. But it has drawbacks: It’s about three times more expensive, only available for pre-order at the moment, and it just chills things down by 20 degrees over 30 seconds. That said, it’s the right size for a quick-chill for a bottle of wine.

Our thoughts? Make cold brew at home (it’s easy). Use the HyperChiller in drinking emergencies only.
