Happy National Coffee Day, everyone. If you’re like me and go to sleep thinking about how nice it will be to wake up and drink coffee again, then you may also, like me, find it sacrilegious to celebrate this quasi-holiday with a free cup from Dunkin’ or Krispy Kreme — which is what most people think of for National Coffee Day deals.

I don’t have anything against Dunkin’, but on a day celebrating the holy grail of caffeine, we should all take some time to work towards a better cup of joe. To help, we’ve rounded up the five best discounts not at coffee shops (which you probably aren’t going to today anyway), but on coffee beans from roasters across the country.

Below, find deals on bags of beans from specific roasters as well as coffee subscriptions for people open to experimentation. But be aware, most of these end at midnight on Tuesday.

OK, so this isn’t a “National Coffee Day” promo, but Trade is offering 30% off your first bag of coffee. They’re not a roaster, but a subscription service that matches you to some of the best roasters across the country. If you want to try something new but aren’t sure where to start, take Trade’s quiz and let them introduce you to a better cup of java.

There’s a reason the herald of third-wave coffee has spread from Portland to grocery stores across the U.S. (and was purchased by Peet’s Coffee), and despite their current ubiquity their beans haven’t let us down yet.

Speaking of Peet’s, if you’re looking for something a little more mainstream, they’re offering 25% off all beans with code COFFEEDAY20. There’s a ton to choose from, including their limited-release Vine & Walnut Autumn Blend named after their original location which was opened in Berkeley in the ‘60s, and featuring notes of dried fig, mulled wine and orange blossom.
