Cover Story

At any restaurant, the check is the least fun thing to order.

So from now on, we suggest skipping it. Legally.

Introducing Cover, a just-launched app that stores your payment info and handles the bill for you, now servicing restaurants across NYC.

Like an Über for restaurants, Cover’s all about streamlining your dining experience. First step: download the app and securely enter your credit card info.

Then when you visit a Cover-friendly establishment (currently several dozen top spots including Carbone, Charlie Bird and El Toro Blanco), simply fire up the app, “create” a table and let your server know you’re paying with Cover.

And that’s it. Order, eat and then, just … leave. Tip preferences are set beforehand, but you can toggle on-the-fly as needed.

Dining in a group? Simply invite comrades to “join” your table and Cover splits the check automatically.

Try to resist proclaiming “bill me” on your way out.
