Need a Hotel Room for Exactly 17 Minutes? We’ve Got Got Your App

A better way to take a break in the city.

If you’ve ever:

  • Changed clothes in the bathroom at that one Starbucks across Market Street from the FedEx store
  • Set up a mobile office in the backseat of your car
  • Or trudged across a bridge because you desperately needed a nap after work only to turn around minutes later to go out for dinner

Have we got news (and a solution) for you.

It’s called Recharge, and it’s an app that sells high-end hotel rooms by the minute (at $.67 per, or $40 an hour).

Investor interest has been piqued: as Techcrunch reported, Recharge has raised $650K thus far.

If you’re thinking, “But that’s just for prostitutes and adulterers,” we suggest reviewing the use cases above.

Or say you have family coming to town and nowhere to stash them until their hotel room opens for check-in mid-afternoon. Or a colleague coming in for a day who wants a shower before a client dinner. Or you just want somewhere to hide, away from your office, for an hour.

We’ve all been there.

No shame in that.

Maybe some shame in sex-by-the-hour scenario.

But everything else, you’re good.
