New work from artist-poet Tony Fitzpatrick
He’s the guy behind the Big Star logo.
He illustrated the Three Aces sign.
He kinda/sorta has a thing for Lou Reed.
Running through the 22nd, Lunch Drawings features new work on paper, including a series dedicated to Fitzpatrick’s longtime compatriot and muse: the late, great Lou Reed.
Fitzpatrick’s work is first and foremost grounded in history. This go-round, that translates to highly-detailed, mythological portraits of Reed’s songs.
The exhibition is made up of 70 pieces altogether, including the one-off series the show takes its name from: the pieces Fitzpatrick drew at lunch — work he says is a “diary and collection of visual wishes.”
Time for you to take a walk on the wild side.
