The problem with most backpacks?

They’re either built for work or the gym. One is too rugged, the other too stylish.

Here to strike the perfect balance: hometown label Public Rec and its new Pro Pack, an office-friendly, gym-ready backpack that could very well be the last you’ll ever need.

We’re big fans of Public Rec. The Chicago brand makes technical everyday basics for the gent of leisure. With core offerings like the All Day Every Day Pant and the Go-To Tee, the brand is all about making comfort look good. And as a backpack built for work, play and the occasional weekend getaway, The Pro Pack follows suit.

Available in two sizes, the Pro Pack took nearly a year to design and prototype. The result is a clean carryall that looks professional but not stuffy.

Aside from carrying capacity, the biggest difference is the Pro Pack Large includes bottom zippered compartment for gym shoes.

Otherwise, the specs are the same: minimal exterior design, waterproof bottom, a large main compartment opening that reveals organizational options for days and a separate pocket for laptops.

Currently available on Kickstarter, early birds can grab their Pro Pack with the Pro Travel Kit, basically a dopp kit that’ll tie everything together.

Carry on.
