True story: I was once minding my own business on the New York City subway, probably listening to an old episode of Car Talk on my way home from work (my way to decompress), when my headphone cord got caught on a backpack. I was pulled outside the subway car, and by the time I untangled myself from the stranger, the subway was off to the Broadway-Lafayette station. In other words, if you don’t have wireless headphones yet, you should invest in some before you end up like yours truly.

Fortunately for those still tethered to cords, or those finally figuring out that AirPods really do make you look goofy, you can pick up a pair of Beats Solo3 on-ear headphones for 50% off the original price on Amazon. They were originally $300, now knocked down to $200 on Beats’ official site, and Amazon is offering an extra $50 off.

They’re only available at this price in matte black, but that’s the color you’d want anyway. (Who is walking around in bright red headphones other than professional athletes and teenagers?) As for specs, the Solo3 offers a battery life of 40 hours, the Apple W1 chip which allows seamless integration with other Apple products, and “Fast Fuel” charging which can power them up for three hours in as little as five minutes when the battery is low.

So while other wireless headphones may have to take a break to charge, leaving you with your old corded options, the Solo3 is always five minutes away from power.
