Nuptials are a no-wizard zone

Three years later, they’re still talking about Sean Parker’s wedding.

The serial entrepreneur (Napster, Facebook) was married to singer Alexandra Lenas at an outlandishly lavish, $10 million “performance art” event in the  Big Sur forest three years ago.

At the wedding: a nine-foot tall wedding cake, fur-pelt-strewn beds, bunnies to cuddle and, oh, 364 Lord of the Rings-themed costumes from the movie’s actual costume designer, Ngila Dickson.

What it didn’t have? Gandalf.

According to a new interview, Sir Ian McKellen turned down $1.5 million to officiate the wedding because Parker wanted him to dress up as the wizard from the Rings and The Hobbit films.

“I was offered $1.5 million to marry a very famous couple in California, which I would perhaps have considered doing but I had to go dressed as Gandalf,” he told the British newspaper The Mail.

“So I said, ‘I am sorry, Gandalf doesn’t do weddings.’”

McKellen, 77, apparently did not know Parker, but the offer was made through a mutual friend.
