Fall in Line
Lot of hand-wringing out there about the state of movies.
Honestly, it’s like Hollywood pretty much threw in the towel around mid-August (“Here’s Guardians of the Galaxy. We’ll be in Cabo. Back in a month!”).
Good news: there’s a worthy go-to-the-theater-for-it movie coming out every single week this fall.
Or so says InsideHook’s Ultimate Fall Movie Guide, available now for your perusal.
In honor of the good movie season, we’ve undercovered a surefire winner for every autumnal weekend: think man sci-fi, James Gandolfini’s last role and possibly the best WWII action film ever made.
Even Kevin Smith turning people into walruses.
Bonus: an interview with the lovely Keeley Hazell of Horrible Bosses 2, our comedy pick for the season.
It’s a fall so good, we left out a few flicks, like Jon Stewart’s directorial debut Rosewater and Michael Keaton’s comeback vehicle Birdman. Certainly worthy stuff.
Not left behind: Left Behind, in which Nicolas Cage pilots humanity through the Rapture and TV-movie special effects. An uncalled-for remake of a terrible adaptation of a ridiculous book.
More of a summer thing.
