Three Unique Guides to Perfecting Finger Foods, Drinks and Coffee

A new publishing imprint hopes to bring you all those pleasures — simultaneously.

It’s called Dovetail, and it pairs great books on booze, food and entertaining with actual, high-end booze, food and entertaining accoutrements.

The service — which launches Sept. 20 but is available for preorder now — enlists top food and drink experts, asks them write up some colorful, photo-heavy hardcover guides … and then pairs those guides with appropriately cool products.

Think: glassware and cutting boards with an entertainment guide. A unique pour-over press with a coffee guide. And so on.

End result: great guides, great gift ideas, great hosting know-how.

At launch, Dovetail offers three book/product packages:

Host: A home entertainment guide (“simple recipes for food, cocktails and gatherings”) from our friends at W&P Design — they of the Carry On Cocktail Kit and the Mason Shaker. Here, they pair the book with a handsome American walnut cutting board, a wine key, cocktail carafe and glassware. If you want a quick guide to making tomahawk rib-eye with a charred-ramp chimichurri or stocking a 10-bottle bar, this is your book.

Brew: The ultimate “bean-to-brew” guide for coffee connoisseurs from “Dear Coffee, I Love You” curator (and TED Talks coffee expert) Brian W. Jones. The book arrives with a Pour-Over Press home-brewing system and an extensive coffee guide … which includes a bevy of “slow coffee” prep how-tos and a few great recipes (a Red-Eye Manhattan? Don’t mind if we do!).

Buenos Nachos!: A guide to your favorite finger foods, paired with “The Baking Blanket” silicone mat and a four-sided, gold pyramid-shaped “Nacho Grater.” Recipes sourced from both celebs (from Bill Hader’s queso to Big Freedia’s “Creole Crawfish Nachos”) and celebrity chefs (like Andrew Zimmern).
