Chelsea Clinton’s name won’t be appearing on the ballot in 2020, but the former first daughter hasn’t ruled out running for office in the future.

In an interview with CBS This Morning, the daughter of former President Bill Clinton and ex-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton specified that she has no intention of going toe-to-toe with President Donald Trump in the next presidential election.

“I’m definitely not the right person to defeat him in 2020,” she said. But when asked if she’d inevitably run for office because her parents were both politicians, she was vague, noting that all people should be willing to battle for policies and programs important to them. “I hope that politics is in all of our DNA,” she said.

“Right now, the answer is no,” she went on. “But I think we all need to be asking ourselves that question periodically. And I hope that a lot of young people kind of use the election to think, ‘Wow, like, should I run for public office? Am I the right person for a given job?’ Whether it’s for a school board or a senator.”

Described as a “key campaign figure” in her mother’s 2016 president run, Chelsea appeared on the show to tout her latest book, It’s Your World. She noted that Hillary is also writing a book, while spending more time with Chelsea’s two young children. Watch her full interview below.
