If you think the only reason to pay attention to the LPGA is Michelle Wie, you’re wrong.
Despite the 28-year-old pro being forced to withdraw from the Women’s British Open due to a hand injury, there are lots of other prime players hitting the links right now in merry ol’ England.
Thing is, unless you are a diehard Golf Channel addict or spend every waking minute of your Sunday glued to your couch (even outside of football season) you may not know who they are.

As of this writing, here are five intriguing women who are still in contention at the Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club. We can’t predict if they’ll make it to Sunday, but we’re sure rooting for it.

Name: Jessica Korda
Country: USA
Her Deal: After breaking into the tour in 2011 when she qualified on her first attempt, Korda has already earned more than $4.5 million as a pro. Nearly six feet tall, Korda started playing golf at age eight and already has five LPGA Tour Victories under her belt including wins at the 2012 Women’s Australian Open and 2014 Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic.
Name: Sandra Gal
Country: Germany
Her Deal: A 10-year pro, Gal started playing golf when she was six under the tutelage of her father who she credits with having a ton of influence over her career. An advocate for the Boys and Girls Club, Gal enjoys painting, dancing, wakeboarding, playing the violin, and modeling in her spare time.
Name: Cheyenne Woods
Country: USA
Her Deal: The daughter of Tiger Woods‘ half-brother Earl, Woods was first coached by her grandfather at age five, the same man who also coached her famous uncle. Though she has never finished any better than tied for sixth, Woods is a popular player who plans to pursue a career in broadcasting once she hangs up her clubs.

Name: Nelly Korda
Country: USA
Her Deal: Notice anything familiar? Sisters with Jessica from above, this Korda joined the tour last year and had five top-1o finishes as a rookie. It should be no surprise athletics run in the Kordas blood as they are the daughters of retired pro tennis players Petr Korda and Regina Rajchrtová.
Name: Danielle Kang
Country: USA
Her Deal: The winner of last year’s KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, Kang joined the tour in 2012 and has already banked more than $3 million in winnings. A native of San Francisco, the former amateur star now calls Las Vegas home.
